Jan. 11, 2020 | Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY

Yale NYC / Yale Community Connect joined the Prospect Park Volunteers Corps MulchFest 2020 for one of their Chipping Saturdays, Saturday, January 11, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m at the 3rd Street Entrance near the famous Litchfield Villa. Six volunteers were rewarded with unseasonably beautiful weather to help process holiday trees and wreaths for mulching.

Tree donors were able to “bring their tree to a chipping site on Chipping Saturdays to take home a tree-mento! The tree chips generated enabled donors to have their very own bag of mulch to use in their backyard or to make a winter bed for a street tree.” Volunteers were treated to free pizza and hot chocolate. A great time was had by all!
