Touring Carriacou After Hurricane Beryl’s Devastation
Carriacou and Petite Martinique, also known as the Southern Grenadines, is a dependency (part) of Grenada. While many islands were impacted, over 90 % of Carriacou was damaged. This population of approximately 10,000 people in Carriacou and 900 in Petite Martinique need assistance.
We have provided a list of items (below) requested from the government of its parent island Grenada, that you can send directly to the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) in Grenada.

YANA Caribbean in Carriacou
Listen in to YANA’s Marcia Hodge ’06 MSN connect with hurricane-impacted healthcare workers earlier this year.
When Hurricane Beryl devastated Carriacou earlier this year, Marcia and the YANA Caribbean Team mobilized their network to secure more than 500 pounds of needed medical supplies for the island. Since fall 2024, they’ve continued to raise awareness and organize critical relief efforts to support Carriacou’s 10,000 residents.

Updates
On Thursday 6th March, 2025 the Hon. Michael Brizan (Consul General for Grenada, Carriacou & Petite Martinique) made arrangements for the 500+ pounds of Maimonides Hospital donations to be shipped to the 3 islands.
The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) of Grenada will receive the shipment and distribute the donations.
