Yale Community Connect & Urban Debate League Judging (New York)

This is an opportunity to judge practice debates and mini tournaments for middle school and high school students who are part of the Debate club in NYC.

If you have prior experience with debate club, public speaking, judging etc, great! If not, no worries – there will be a brief judge training for those without any debate experience. We will help judge the middle school debate from 10am-12pm and the high school debate from 12-3pm.

*Let Alison know if you have any prior experience in Model UN, Mock Trial, Toastmasters or other public speaking.

A volunteer architectural collaborative serving non-profit organizations, hosted and coordinated by Yale alumni architects

Any non-profit organization can register – Yale affiliation or not. Volunteer architects will provide free consultations to non-profits who register by May 4.

Some examples of issues related to architecture, design, and planning include:

  • Accessibility improvements
  • Renovations or upgrade needs
  • Space utilization and efficiency
  • Building code violations or permit needs
  • Updating your facility to reflect your brand or mission
  • Energy-efficiency or environmental sustainability

Brooklyn: Prospect Park – It’s My Park Day

Description:
As part of Spring Fling weekend, join Prospect Park Alliance and REI to care for your park! Volunteer during It’s My Park Day, and participate in our biggest community clean up in spring.

Here at Prospect Park, we’ll focus our efforts around the Empire and Flatbush Avenue entrance performing general park beautification and landscaping tasks.

Ages 14 and up are welcome with accompanying adult supervision.
