28th Ave Beach Clean-Up: Sept. 26, 11:30am-3:30pm
Join the Queens Platoon as we partner up with Coastal Prevention Network to clear up debris on the beach on the west end of 28th Ave and the East River in College Point, Queens. This will be the first time we’ve ever worked on this particular beach , so it would be wonderful if we can help out and claim it as “Veterans’ Beach”! It’s a cool location – directly across from LaGuardia Airport.
The Mission Continues
Mission VetCheck: Ongoing Opportunity
TMC is working alongside ThriveNYC and the NYC Dept. of Veterans’ Services on a month-long mission of checking in on the well-being of New York City Veterans across the five boroughs during the COVID-19 crisis. Goal: call every veteran in New York City and connect those in need to free resources that can address their vital needs (food, mental health, COVID-19 testing, etc.). Even if you can spare an hour a week to help make calls, it will be extremely helpful.
