SUMMARY:"Healing Through Compassion and Community" YANA Virtual Town Hall
DESCRIPTION:ADDICTION RECOVERY\nHealing Through Compassion and Community\nYANA Virtual Town Hall\nWednesday\, February 23 | 6:30 PM EST\nAll welcome to attend; Registration required\n\nAddiction in the US was already at a crisis level when Covid struck. The pandemic fueled an increase in financial insecurity and social isolation\, triggering a surge in addiction rates. On February 23rd\, YANA’s Town Hall will address addiction for the first time by describing how two Yale-related nonprofits are using community-based approaches to support recovery. \nRabbi Iggy Gurin-Malous\, CEO of the T’shuvah Center in New York\, and Daniel J. McDermott ’76\, Executive Director of Florida Lawyers Assistance in South Florida\, will describe how both secular and non-secular recovery programs can be effective in treating addiction. \nWe hope you can join us for what promises to be a compelling conversation moderated by YANA’s Executive Director Rachel Littman ‘91. \nREGISTER HERE
