SUMMARY:Live from NYC: Dr. Azita Emami\, Dean of the Yale School of Nursing
DESCRIPTION:Live from NYC!\nDr. Azita Emami\, Dean of the Yale School of Nursing\nNursing is in crisis. While doctors are in charge of a patient’s medical care\, nurses are the backbone of our healthcare industry. They are the first people that patients interact with — assessing and triaging patients\, monitoring vital signs\, and administering treatments while providing compassionate care\, and educating individuals and families about health. But the U.S. is now facing a shortfall of up to 450\,000 nurses\, 20% fewer than required for patient care. Against this backdrop\, the Yale School of Nursing\, ranked 6th in the world\, plays an important leadership role in addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by the nursing profession. \nPlease join us on Wednesday\, May 29th at the Yale Club (and virtually via Zoom) as YANA’s Town Hall spotlights Dr. Azita Emami\, Dean of the Yale School of Nursing\, who will share her thoughts on the current crisis and her vision for the future. \nMay 29 | 6:30pm ET – In-Person (Yale Club of NYC) & via Zoom\nREGISTER

SUMMARY:YANA Nonprofit Mentoring Program Info Session
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the launch of the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance (YANA) pro bono Nonprofit Mentoring Program\, a significant extension of our long-standing commitment to helping Yale alumni and nonprofits thrive in their social impact missions. The Program is designed to foster meaningful engagement between Yale alumni and nonprofit organizations by providing alumni with opportunities to apply their professional skills and life experiences in service of alumni-affiliated nonprofits\, thereby meeting the strategic needs of these organizations. \nThe YANA Nonprofit Mentoring Program stands out as the only Yale alumni matching system that facilitates meaningful nonprofit mentoring projects managed by fellow Yale alumni through the well-established Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance\, an officially recognized Yale Alumni Association (YAA) Shared Interest Group that has received an unprecedented ten consecutive YAA Board of Governors Excellence Awards. Unlike other pro bono consulting groups that primarily work with larger\, established nonprofits in particular locations\, the YANA Program serves smaller\, under-resourced nonprofits around the country with strategic funding\, governance\, and operational needs. This unique program offers curated matching and facilitated online roundtable conversations to share life experiences and expertise\, providing a platform for alumni to leverage their skills to help their peers achieve their nonprofit missions. \nJOIN US on Thursday\, July 18th at 12:00pm ET for a more detailed discussion about the Mentoring Program\, and ways YOU can get involved! \nREGISTER \nALUMNI interested in lending their skills can complete the INDIVIDUAL INTAKE FORM. \nNONPROFITS who wish to submit their information for consideration should use the ORGANIZATION INTAKE FORM. \nFor more information about the Program including requirements\, expectations\, and benefits of participating\, please visit the website. We look forward to your participation and support as we continue to build a robust network of Yale alumni dedicated to making a positive impact through social impact work.
