Join us to learn the “world-changing true story” of the 1968 death penalty trial of Black Panther Party co-founder Huey Newton.

The Yale Women NorCal Crime & Justice Series 2021 program is excited to feature retired Judge and award-winning author and documentary film producer Lise Pearlman (Davenport ’71). Judge Pearlman has riveted audiences across the country sharing her own and other experts’ insights on how to fix our current broken justice system.

Her talk features the “world-changing true story” of the 1968 death penalty trial of Black Panther Party co-founder Huey Newton, its surprising outcome that likely prevented national riots, and the pioneering woman defense lawyer who won his freedom.
