Disrupting Expectations — October 27, 2016, 6pm, Dorchester, MA.
An interactive and thought-provoking evening at College Bound Dorchester hosted by Mark Culliton SOM ’95, CEO. The evening will start with a presentation on how College Bound transformed itself from a traditional service agency to an innovative force in the social venture space, disrupting community cycles of poverty and violence by engaging local “leaders” (often gang leaders) they call “Core Influencers” to drive positive change. A key part of the discussion will be about the challenges of communicating to and engaging stakeholders about disruptive solutions that challenge the status quo. Program participants will have a chance to engage with College Bound staff, Board Members and students to help them work through how to scale their work to a national level, particularly when the young people they work with are often feared and marginalized within communities. All of this packaged between social time (beer, wine and snacks) before and after with plenty of time for networking. RSVP here.
