There are many ways to generate impact—from partnering with an existing charity to creating a new tax-exempt entity. This webinar will explore the pros and cons of various options\, including fiscal sponsorship. In the process\, we will explore how legal\, operational\, and fundraising considerations affect decisions over how to structure a nonprofit venture. \n*** \n \nJustin Zaremby practices law in the Tax-Exempt Organizations department of Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP where he represents a range of public charities and private foundations\, including universities\, cultural institutions\, and other tax-exempt entities on a variety of matters including corporate governance and restructuring\, charitable giving\, program-related investing\, international grantmaking\, commercially driven mission activities\, and other state and federal regulatory matters. From 2010 to 2011\, Justin served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. José A. Cabranes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Prior to joining Patterson Belknap\, Justin advised for-profit companies on complex commercial transactions and corporate governance matters at another New York-based law firm. \nJustin received his B.A.\, Ph.D.\, and J.D. from Yale\, where he taught courses on the history of political thought. He is the author of Legal Realism and American Law and Directed Studies and the Evolution of American General Education. His writings have been published in various journals including the Yale Journal of Law and the Humanities\, the Rutgers Law Review\, and The New Criterion.
