SUMMARY:Efforts in Health Equity: Working Towards More Diverse and Value-Based Medical Care
DESCRIPTION:Efforts in Health Equity: Working Towards More Diverse and Value-Based Medical Care \nData have shown for years that the lack of diversity in medical schools\, the financial incentives to choose well-compensated specialties over community-based family practice\, and the fee-for-service reimbursement system in our country have disproportionately negatively impacted the most marginalized and vulnerable populations who already face barriers in access to quality health care. \nJoin YANA for an in-depth discussion with two physicians who have spent their careers working to correct for these disparities: YANA Board member and community health practitioner\, Dr. Patrice Yang ‘98\, MD & MPH Emory University ‘06\, and University of Houston Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine founding faculty member and Pozen-Commonwealth Fund Fellow in Health Equity Leadership at Yale’s School of Management\, Dr. Steven Starks SOM ’23. \nREGISTER

DESCRIPTION:Conversation with Renowned Playwright & Librettist\nDavid Henry Hwang (Yale Drama ’83)\nThe Yale Club of San Francisco & the Stanford Women’s Club of San Francisco invite YANA members to an online conversation with renowned playwright and librettist David Henry Hwang (Stanford ’79\, Yale Drama School ’83)\, who was featured in a YANA event last year. \nHe will discuss his career and how he came to adapt the great classic of Chinese literature\, “Dream of the Red Chamber\,” into an opera commissioned by the San Francisco Opera. This is a rare opportunity to explore the process by which a new opera is created and is sure to enrich our understanding of how this time-honored art form continues to evolve in the modern age. \nThursday\, June 16 | 7:00-8:00 PM PDT \nREGISTER   \nYale Club of San Francisco & Stanford Women’s Club of San Francisco Joint Event \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDavid Henry Hwang is an Obie\, Tony and Grammy Award-winning author of works including the plays “M.
