DESCRIPTION:Exploring Life Stories \nExperience the intersection of social justice and the arts in this interactive workshop. Deb Gottesman and Buzz Mauro ’84\, founders and Co-Executive Directors of The Theatre Lab\, Washington\, DC’s largest theatre school\, will discuss the techniques of The Theatre Lab’s Life Stories program\, designed to elevate the voices of people whose stories too often go unheard. In Life Stories\, incarcerated youth\, people in addiction recovery\, wounded veterans\, seniors in assisted living\, and many others learn to create original dramatic works based on their lived experiences. Attendees will have the opportunity to turn their cameras on and take part in a fun and hopefully enlightening exercise\, to demonstrate the work in action.
