Bi-Monthly Meeting Featuring One Degree on Tuesday, Nov 15, 2016, 6:15 -7:45 pm
Davis Wright Tremaine, 505 Montgomery Street, 8th Floor, SF
Join YANA’s next bi-monthly meeting which will feature One Degree, a nonprofit that is revolutionizing the way low-income families access poverty-fighting resources. We will hear from Rey Faustino, CEO & Founder, on how they use technology to bring communities together and to connect people with the resources they need the most– making it easy to find food, housing, job training, after-school programs, and more. Imagine millions of people being able to easily find, manage, and share their experiences with food banks, employment services and after-school programs.
Rey launched One Degree to ensure that all families have access to services they need to overcome poverty. Rey began his career as a teacher and later was the site director at BUILD, a college access nonprofit organization that propels low-income youth to attain a college education. Rey received his B.S. in Business Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California and earned his Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He is an alumnus of Y Combinator, an Echoing Green Fellow, and an Education Pioneers Fellow. Rey was nominated for the inaugural Visionary of the Year Award by the San Francisco Chronicle.
